This year we received over 170 nominations for awards from staff and members of the public. I am delighted to inform you that have been nominated by Gavin Thorburn, Emergency Medical Dispatcher, in the following category: Our Values Award. In support of your nomination Gavin writes:
‘Alan is and continues to be a committed Community First Responder in his community of Comrie. As well as working full time for the education board as a School Janitor, he until recently was a retained firefighter in his town. Alan is a life saver in his role as a CFR/Firefighter, but that wasn’t enough. Alan organised 527 High School children to be trained in CPR with the assistance of Save A Life for Scotland and SAS. He was the real driving force behind making this school an example to others, and more importantly, a community of lifesavers.’
